I'm guessing my roommate played this on the piano or something and it somehow stuck in my head. I also had a second melody that I was considering as the opening tune of the song, but Norwegian Wood won out. I can still remember the melody. It's a little more complex, but in the same meter over the same chords. 2) The instrumental part around 1:34 was inspired by a section of the solo violin part of Samuel Barber's violin concerto, just before the orchestra collapses into chaos.
